Dr Felix Bockstein, MD, is a highly esteemed neuro-oncologist recognized by Forbes as one of the “Best Doctors in Israel.” He is a leading specialist in the Oncology Department at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and heads the Neuro-Oncology Service. In addition, Dr. Bockstein supports WeCare Medical Centre clients through telemedicine services, providing second opinion consultations and further treatments.
Dr Bockstein specializes in treating tumors of the central (brain) and peripheral nervous systems of various etiologies, managing neurological complications in cancer patients, including metastases to the brain, skull, or spine, and addressing peripheral nerve damage. He is also proficient in treating motor function, speech, and attention disorders resulting from CNS injuries or diseases, and focuses on the rehabilitation of neuropathy after chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Additionally, he treats extrapyramidal diseases and dementia.
Dr Bockstein completed his medical education at Moscow State University of Medicine in 1980. He specialized in Neurology at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center from 1991 to 1995 and further specialized in Neuro-Oncology at the Neuro-Oncology Center of Hadassah Ein-Kerem Medical Center from 1995 to 2000.
Fluent in Hebrew, English, and Russian, Dr Bockstein brings over 40 years of clinical experience to his practice. He is a lecturer in Neurology and Neuro-Oncology at the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University and has authored numerous scientific projects and developed effective diagnostic and treatment methods for neurological diseases associated with cancer. As a co-investigator, he has participated in international clinical trials on Radiation Oncology conducted by RTOG in the USA and the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). He also serves as a consulting physician for complications and secondary neurological dysfunctions in cancer patients.
Dr Bockstein has received several accolades for his work, including the Best Employee Award at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in 2006 and 2012, and the Award for Excellence in Teaching at Tel Aviv University in 2009. In 2008, he became the Head of the Hamburg Neurofibromatosis Clinic affiliated with the Gilbert Center at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center.
